Betsy Frederick, President (2017-2019)
Betsy was born in Maine and educated in California. She taught dance during the heart of the 60s revolution. She was married and raised two children in New Mexico and recently moved to Guilford to be closer to her daughter Liza and her family. Betsy’s interest in technology and high school education have made her a wonderful ambassador for SVCT’s ”Senior to Senior” program, which helps our members gain a better understanding of technology.
FoxKathyKathy Fox, Secretary (2013-2016)
Kathy and her husband Parker have been Branford residents since 1975 and have two children and three grandchildren. Kathy graduated from UCONN with a degree in English Literature and earned a MSW from New York University. For many years she served as a clinician and state-wide administrator for the Connecticut Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services. She recently closed her private practice in Branford and provides clinical and programmatic consultation to the Institute for Professional Practice. Kathy and her husband are both active members of the Branford Community and enjoy life on the Shoreline. Kathy is the past moderator of the First Congregational Church of Branford and currently serves on the Branford Fire Commission.
Rose Rita Riccitelli (2015-2018)
Rose Rita has lived in Branford for the past 15 years and enjoys writing, art, practicing yoga, and walking/hiking on the beautiful natural trails on the shoreline. Rose Rita is retired from her position as the assistant director of the Yale Institute for Biospheric Studies, and currently works part-time as a program coordinator at Yale University. She is a member of the board of directors of the Branford Land Trust, has been a volunteer at Camp Totokett and was a member of the “Women Who Write” group in Guilford.
Randy Reinhold, MD, Treasurer (2013-2016)
Recently retired as Chair of Surgery at the Hospital of St. Raphael and the first President of the Shoreline Village, Randy and his wife Rita Berkson have been Branford residents for over 20 years. Randy and Rita have four children and four grandchildren, all in the Boston area. Randy and Rita are committed to living independently as long as possible in their shoreline home on Linden Ave.
TroncaleFrankFrank Troncale, MD (2013-2016)
Frank was born and raised in Alabama, received his undergraduate degree from Loyola University and  medical degree from Tulane University Medical School. He completed medical internship, residency and fellowship in New York City and Boston and was an  academic faculty member at Yale Medical School. In private practice since 1971, he has offices in Hamden and Guilford. Frank served as Chief of Gastroenterology at Hospital of St Raphael for 18 years and on the Medical Board at Yale New Haven Hospital. His wife Mary is a specialist in vintage clothing. Their children are James, Michael and Nicole, and and their grandchildren are Luke and Marisa. A Branford resident since 1971, his interests include vegetable gardening, opera, treatment for obesity, vintage ties and toy cars from the 1950s. His brief but spectacular moment was carrying a spear on stage at the Metropolitan Opera in New York City during a performance of “Aida.”
Bob Jaeger, PhD
Bob has lived in Guilford with his wife Pat since 1983. He taught Philosophy at Yale in the 1970s and early 1980s, left academia for the investment management business in 1983, and is now retired. Bob has been actively involved with a number of non-profit organizations, including the Connecticut Chapter of The Nature Conservancy, the Guilford Free Library, and others.
DeSantisSylviaSylvia De Santis, Director of Services
Sylvia was born and raised in Bamberg, Germany where she obtained her degree in Geriatric Nursing and worked in the medical field for five years. She met her husband Ron De Santis, a graduate from The Culinary Institute of America, in her hometown, and after they were married, they moved to the United States so he could pursue his goal of teaching at his Alma Mater. Sylvia worked for almost 20 years at The Culinary Institute of America as an administrative assistant and project manager. Sylvia’s main priority was raising their two daughters, Jennifer and Stephanie. She and her husband recently relocated to Branford where they enjoy the community and being close to the shore. Sylvia is the Deputy Director for Shoreline Village CT and is primarily responsible for organizing and matching the volunteers with the members, and making sure that active members have access to whatever resources they need in order to remain safely in their homes.
