The members of Shoreline Village CT share the desire to age in our own homes, to live life to the fullest, and to take part in the life of the community. We believe in the traditional idea of a Village, a place where people watch out for and take care of their neighbors.

We are diverse in our ages, our physical well-being, and our social situations. Some of us live with a spouse or significant other; some live alone. Some of us have family members nearby whom we don’t want to bother; others have children far away whom we don’t want to worry. Some of us drive, and some do not. Many of us have lived here for a long time and have time-rooted friendships, but others have recently arrived and are looking for companionship. Some of us are still working, but others are retired and seeking new activities.

We connect with one another socially at parties and informal gatherings or by offering in-home companionship; we connect intellectually in book groups and film groups, and at lectures, talks, and discussions.

We connect with one another at a deeper level by volunteering our time and energy to help those who need our help.

We connect to the Shoreline community by sponsoring public events on health and well-being, the arts, and local history, and by working with our elected representatives to promote policies advantageous to seniors.
