SVCT member Albina Buzzi passed away

SVCT member Albina J. Buzzi, 94, of Guilford passed away on December 30 after a brief illness.  She was born in Crystal Falls Michigan on May 27, 1923 to Domenico and Maria Palma.  Her family moved to Torrington, CT when she was a child and it was in Torrington that she married, raised her family and spent most of her life.   Albina’s home was her realm.  She devoted her life to her family, her heart and soul was dedicated to family events, meals, holidays, telephone calls, and visits.  Of course she had some other interests, she loved to golf, tending to her garden, cooking, spending time with cherished friends, but her family took precedence over everything.    Her grandchildren adored her, for good reason, and she loved them unconditionally.  She did her best to remain a part of their lives, even in this last year as her age began to take its toll.

Albina was predeceased by her husband of 67 years, Robert, and her beloved son Bill, whose death was a tragedy she bore with dignity and grace.  She is survived by her daughters Claudia (Pietro De Camilli), Roberta (Andrew Wilson), her daughter-in-law, Susan Yarian and grandchildren Susanna, Alessandro and Francesco De Camilli and Francesca and Zoe Buzzi, her sister-in-law Lillian Crovo and nieces Pam Matheu, Jane Molon and Patty Noel, nephew Dick Crovo and her dearest childhood friend Eunice DiLaurenzio.

A family memorial will take place at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to The Sarah Foundation, a charity close to Albina’s heart.  Address is 246 Goose Lane, Guilford, CT or sarahfoundation.org.
